Apparently you are still in hurt mode and not angry yet or you would just simply tell him that if he wants his name off the account he will have to pay the deposit for the benefit of his children that he left in your care. Do not set a precedent that you will not be happy with later. Please refer to the following link on divorce and stop trying to placate him in hope that he may return. He is responsible for the children he created. And you, even without your knowledge are helping him establish an accepted/agreed value/amount of child support. Read up on the laws in your state because you now have the sole obligation to protect the rights and futures of your children.

I too, need to make a deposit of $350. They will accept $150 down, then split and charge the remaining to my account over two months, which would be an added $100 to my electric bill for ea. month for two months only. Do you have an Electric deposit refund from you other place you can get back? You can also check with your local community service programs, social services, as well as churches. There are few, far in between, but they're there & every little bit helps. You can also go to my site "Resourceful Living" for resources, links, encouragement, info, etc.

Since he has been gone since January, one would assume he is not in need of deposit for utility elsewhere so why could he not notify the company to switch deposit to your name along with utilities? Did they refund the deposit?

Oh no, he doesn't get off that easy! You go to child support offices and tell them what he is up to. By LAW he is required to support his children financially AND medically. Additionally, since HE left, he is required to support you in lifestyle you have been accustomed to - this does vary by state -so check with an atty on this one. also I am including the 211 site for pensacola - check there for additional help on local resources ( food, rental assistance, clothing utility assistance, etc) until the EX decides he has no alternative but to take care of his responsibility.
